-238- Niece

Justin's sister just had a baby last Thursday! Her name is Paisley. We have come to Abilene to see her and she is BEAUTIFUL and SO precious. I thought this picture was cute because her feet were hanging out of her undone swaddle (and also because Justin is holding her). He looks good holding a baby, doesn't he? ;)

-237- Scan Barcode

I just thought this was so cool. This is the scanner at a gas pump at Kroger. Justin and I have membership cards there and shop there for our groceries, so we get fuel points that add up and eventually get you 10 cents off each gallon of one fuel-up. I thought it'd be hard to reach the amount of points needed, but it really wasn't, so I've decided to start gassing up there whenever we have the points. Gas has been going up lately, but hopefully I will be able to scan by Kroger card here pretty often and get it cheaper!

-236- Silicone

I started dinner tonight before Justin got home from work, and I couldn't open this spaghetti sauce jar. I was frustrated, because my man wasn't home to open it for me. Then I remembered that we have a couple of silicone pot holders, so I decided to see if one would help me open it - and it did! I was so proud of myself for thinking of that, even though it probably would have been obvious to anyone reading this. Now I'll have to keep them in mind whenever I can't open a jar.

-235- Cassette Tape Player

I had no idea they even sold these anymore... much less sold them for 40 bucks - which I think is way overpriced. Apparently Best Buy keeps them in stock and thinks people will buy them for this price. I wonder how many they sell nowadays?

-234- Lopsided Cornbread

Every Wednesday at work during this fall/winter season, we have had people (who volunteer, of course) bring soup to share for lunch. We usually have cornbread or crackers to go with it, and tonight I made the cornbread for tomorrow's lunch. Unfortunately, our oven cooks unevenly and hotter than it should, so this is what happened when it was in for 3 minutes less than the minimum time the box said was required to have it cooked all the way. I knew our oven was wonky but this really was a wake up call as to how off it is!

-233- Green Thumb... In the Making

I bought some pots, potting soil, and flower seeds a couple months ago, but only just got around to planting them today. It was beautiful outside, so while Justin was washing the cars, I went out on the balcony and sowed my seeds. The pot on the left will hopefully yield golden poppies, and the one on the right, snapdragons. We'll see how green my thumb is!

-232- So This is the New Year

I know that I took a photo sometime in November of the November calendar, but this is a different situation. This is the wonderful Chick-Fil-A calendar, known for their hilarious spoof photos and great coupons on the bottom of each month. I can't believe it's already time for a new calendar! 2011 was great, but here's to 2012 - which will hopefully only be better.
