-322- Longhorns

Justin and I went down to the Fort Worth Stockyards and looked around this afternoon. It was a lot of fun and interesting to see what the little shops had to offer. We happened to catch the moment when the men on horses rounded up some longhorns and herded them down the middle of the street. It's amazing how long their horns are!

-321- High Roller

I have never gambled. Never bought a scratcher, bought a lottery ticket, pulled a slot machine lever.

But today, I had my first experience with gambling some money. I gave $2 to the office Mega Millions pool and we bought 48 tickets total. Unfortunately (and predictably), we didn't win the record-breaking jackpot, but I couldn't resist participating just this one time. I mentioned to my coworker who was going to buy the tickets that I had never even done a scratcher before and she brought the "Find the 9's" card back for me. Unfortunately, I didn't win anything on that either, but at least I didn't lose any money!

-318- Kosher

I was befuddled when I first saw this foreign lettering on the cap of my new orange juice until I read the English words underneath it. Apparently Simply Orange orange juice is not normally kosher.

-317- Honey Bear

I knew there had to be a usefulness for the wire shelves that make up our pantry! And this is it: to get the very last bit of honey to drain to the top of the bear's head.

-316- Paddle Battle

This morning, after a delicious buffet breakfast (which, as you probably know by now, is my favorite type of food - besides dessert), Justin and I had a couples massage at the spa here at the resort. It was so nice and I really just wanted to sleep afterwards, but instead Justin and I battled it out in the game room. We played several games of ping pong, each winning some, each losing some. It reminded me of how much I really enjoy this game, and I look forward to having a house that can fit a ping pong table inside it!

-315- Bearcat Hug

My love enjoys giving our lump big bear hugs... even if The Lump doesn't seem too excited about it. For now, these two are my family, and I love them!

Today we left for a retreat put on and paid for by Justin's employer. We went up to a resort at Lake Texoma and have had a really good day. I got to finally put faces to names of Justin's coworkers that he's mentioned and enjoy some time away. There's still tomorrow!

-314- Grand Reopening

The McDonald's by us has been going through some renovation and apparently today they had a grand reopening event. Ronald McDonald was there to entertain the crowd of onlookers. I can't remember the last time I ate there. Funny, seeing as there's one on every corner.

-313- Puncture Wound

See that little silver dot? That's some sort of nail or metal piece stuck in my tire that caused my low tire pressure light to turn on and make me freak out because I didn't find this metal until after work. Anyway, it will get taken care of...

-311- Fluffy Little Clouds

Look at those cute little clouds! It's pretty dark this evening with the cloud cover, but I found it incredible that these little fluffy ones were so distinct amongst it all.

-310- Puddle Jumper (or not...)

Obviously I don't own rain boots.

So yeah, this is what happened as I walked from my car to the apartment this evening. At least it's just water and I don't have to be anywhere else tonight!

-309- Troll Hair

My in-laws were dog-sitting for their friends. They actually own a Maltese that looks almost just like this, except without all the hair. Her hair isn't normally like this, it was just straightened up by my mother-in-law and I thought it looked so funny, like one of those little plastic trolls with the brightly colored hair that sticks up.

-308- Creamy Banana Pudding

My mother-in-law makes the most amazing banana pudding. She said she got it from one of her daughter's college roommates. Anyway, I took photos of the front and back of the recipe card with my phone's note-taking app. I can't wait to try making it myself!

In other news, I of course met up with Rebekah and Anna for coffee tonight. How I love those girls!

-307- Pink and Orange

One of my favorite sky displays is when the clouds turn orange and pink from the sun behind it. I feel like this generally happens for the sunrise, but today it happened during sunset on our drive towards Abilene.

-306- Lost and Found

At Target today I found this new looking iPhone on the toilet paper dispenser of the bathroom stall I happened to walk into. I turned it in for safekeeping at Guest Services in hopes that its owner will go there to look for it after not finding it in the bathroom.

-305- Decision

So, I've decided that since I'm so bad at remembering to take photos, I will not be continuing this photo blog after May 15th. I may make an occasional post or two, but not for the purpose of a photo-a-day.

-304- New Favorite Spot

I couldn't find Chloe this evening... and eventually found her in her new favorite spot: the rug in our bathroom. Aww how sweet she looks! I think she wants her belly rubbed.

-303- Leisure

Yet another beautiful day! After work and dinner I enjoyed my book and some strawberries out on the patio since there was plenty of daylight left due to the time change this weekend. Please note how large my plants are growing! No flowers yet, though.

-302- The Epic History of Texas

Half Price Books is amazing! I'm so glad we have one here. Today we bought 5 used books for the price of one or two new ones. Justin has been urging me to learn more about Texas history since I'm not a native and also because he loves history (especially about Texas). I bought this book on Texas history. Hopefully it's as compelling a read as the reviews on the back cover claim.

-301- Heavyweight Champions

We had a Wii night with a couple of friends tonight, and this is Justin and Quentin boxing each other. It was one of the silliest and most hilarious sights ever to be seen.

-298- Hiding Place

Our windows have wider than average sills, so when we opened the windows today, Chloe got up on the sill. It got dark so we closed the blinds, and this is her coming out from behind them. It was pretty funny.

-297- Grocery Homework

This week I actually did my homework before going grocery shopping. I perused the ads to see what was on sale and compared it to what we needed and made some compromises regarding brands and varieties. I was proud when I got my receipt back with this savings notation at the bottom! Guess my work paid off.

-296- It's A Beautiful Day

This is me enjoying my lunch during a beautiful warm day! Just wanted to say hi and show myself so you all know I still exist and didn't just give someone I know my camera to take random pictures. :)

-295- Tie the Knot

The whole point of us coming into town this weekend was to go to our friend's wedding. He was our lifegroup leader for a couple years and he is now married to a wonderful woman of God and I wish them the best! This is a shot of the fabric and lights draped under the ceiling of the room their reception was in.

-294- Baby Burp Time

My precious baby niece Paisley is getting so big! Here is a shot of her peeking over her mama's shoulder. I just love her!

-293- The Usual

Whenever Justin and I go to Abilene, we always stop for dinner at Chick-Fil-A on the way and I always look forward to it the entire week long. This week was no different, and tonight my anticipation was highly satisfied by this delicious meal.

-292- Shadow

Chloe is very attentive whenever we open cans (I've mentioned this before). Here is - yet again - another moment where she follows unbelievably closely to my legs. But she's so cute anyway!
