-47- Lying Lump

Yet another cell phone picture, but I have a real excuse this time. Chloe has always liked me, but I think it has taken her some time to get used to the idea of actually living with me. She always flops down in Justin's lap whenever he's sitting and I always wished she would do that with me too. Finally, after weeks of being patient (on my part), she came to lie in my lap this afternoon! I felt like the heavens had parted and sun was shining down on me, with a full choir of angels singing and playing harps. Okay, not really, but I got so excited that I just had to snap a photo of it, and my phone was right next to me.

-46- Floating Along

A couple days ago Justin suggested root beer floats. For some reason or another, we didn't end up having them, but I brought it up again this evening when we had to run to the store anyway. They were so good! I have no idea why root beer floats are so tasty. Perhaps it's the tangy spiciness of the soda combined with the cool creaminess of the ice cream. Who knows??

-45- Coffee Galore

Today we went and had dinner with a friend at Riscky's BBQ. During the conversation, Central Market came up, so afterwards we wandered around that huge store for some time. I smelled the section pictured above long before I saw it - and it smelled glorious! It was bigger than this, but I liked this part of it best. This is a large part of their whole bean selection. Sorry this photo isn't of good quality; I forgot my camera and had to use my cell phone.

-44- Books, Books, Books!

We wandered around the cute downtown square this afternoon, stopping for quite some time in the coolest used book/movie/music shop I have ever seen. It was rather large and felt like a maze. And the smell - oh, it was so wonderful! We ended up buying only a couple books, but I guarantee you I will be back. We also stopped in an old fashioned ice cream parlor and shared a cup of peanut butter cup ice cream.

-43- Slumber Party

I love being married! It's like being able to have a slumber party with your best friend every night. Tonight we popped a bag of popcorn and watched a few episodes of 24, one of our favorite shows to watch together.

-42- Memorial

We wandered around downtown Dallas for a bit today, stopping by the JFK memorial pictured above. We also went to the Holocaust museum. On the way home we went to the new Dallas In-n-Out. If you ever go there, be prepared for its awful location. I feel bad for the people who have to work or drive near there. Overall, it was a pretty interesting day! Fun, informative, and rather hot, but interesting! And it was wonderful mostly because I got to spend it with Justin. :)

-41- Pegasaurus!

Some of you will know who this is. For those of you who don't... this, ladies and gentlemen, is Pegasaurus. She is the dinosaur who makes interesting squeaky and cow-like noises (like, moos). She lives on our futon currently, and she is very happy there.

-40- Cat in the Bath

That is dirty, cat hair-infested bath water. Ew. But poor Chloe has been really out of sorts and hot the past few days without the air conditioning, so last night and today Justin plopped her in the bathtub. I think she felt better after each time, regardless of how much she disliked it during!

-39- I'm Meeelllltttiiinnngggg

No, you're not seeing things. Our thermostat does say it's above 90 degrees even though it is set below 70. That is because - long story short - the air conditioning failed to cool the apartment and maintenance took several tries to figure out what was wrong and how to fix it. That means that yesterday and today if you were to stay inside this place you would have sweated just for sitting still, like I did. Fortunately, I didn't have to stay here the whole day. Now, thankfully, it's fixed. Let's hope it stays that way.

-38- World Record

We went to the Rangers game tonight and they were giving out sunglasses to try and break a world record. The record we broke was... "Most People Wearing Sunglasses in the Dark." I think we may have cheated a little, as it wasn't really all that dark with all the stadium lights gleaming... but outside it was dark...

-37- Fat Cat

Oh my gosh! Don't you just want to squeeze her?! Well, I do. Oh, wait - I do, every day. I thought she looked especially lumpish when I caught her here by her bowls.

-36- Birthday

It's my birthday! To celebrate, after church for lunch we went to IHOP and then after dinner for dessert we got ice cream at Braum's. I had a fun, extremely lazy day with Justin. A great day!

-35- Garmin

I got a GPS today with birthday giftcard money! I'm so excited because now I shouldn't get lost around here. This area is confusing and big! But I'll get used to it (I hope).

-34- Green Date

We just got back from date night. We went to see the movie Green Lantern. It was pretty good, but I have to say that I thought it was going to be a little more complex. It was fun being in a movie theater again (it's been a while...) and the theater here is pretty nice. Next movie on my must-see-in-theaters list: Harry Potter 7.2.

-33- Lunch Bag

I've been trying to make Justin's lunch for work the night before - so far this is only the second time I've remembered. Hopefully I will remember more often as we get into more of a routine.

-32- The Worst (Most Unhealthy) Thing I (and by that I mean "we") Ever Ate

Today we have been married for one month! We decided to pick up something for dinner. Being surrounded by multiple pizza places, we decided on Domino's for their beginning of the week special: one large, 3-topping pizza for $7.99. We walked across the street to put in the order, and then we waited for not even 10 minutes for the pie. I'm glad we walked because traffic on that street was horrendous. It would have taken us longer to drive. Anyway, the toppings we chose were pepperoni, beef, and Italian sausage. Talk about unhealthy! (But yummy!)

-31- Vacuum Attachments

I vacuumed the apartment today with our awesome vacuum that's made especially for pet owners. While looking at the multiple attachments available for my use, I discovered this warning on one of them. It literally made me laugh out loud!

-30- Attack!

Sometimes Justin likes to "attack" Chloe. Tonight, I let Chloe breathe some air while I caught this shot. These two are hilarious!

-29- Queen

After just one night of sleeping in a full size bed, I am so excited to get back to our wonderful queen! This is a picture of it. It is the most comfortable bed I've ever slept in. The beautiful afghan folded at the foot of it was made by my mom as part of our wedding/housewarming gift.

-28- Saturday Night Coffee

Justin and I went out to his parents' house this weekend to celebrate my birthday and father's day early. Tonight I was able to have Saturday night coffee with my beloved friends Rebekah and Anna. I have missed their company so much! I think it's the worst thing about moving away and knowing no one but Justin. But, as you can see, we enjoyed our drinks, and then we talked for a couple more hours after that.

-27- The Park

This is just a small part of a huge park we went to tonight as part of date night. We, unlike most of the other people there, sat on a bench and enjoyed the new Rolo McFlurry in the wonderful, slightly cool evening. Everyone else was running, walking, or otherwise exercising along the sidewalk that winds its way through this park. One of the neatest things about the place is the small lake in the middle. It's a community fishing hole! The part of the lake captured in the photo is only about a fourth of the entire size. The playground (not pictured) is the biggest playground I have ever seen in my life. This would have been my favorite park if I had lived here when I was little. We can't wait to go back!

-26- My New Car

Kidding! Today Justin and I went to the Texas Motor Speedway with one of his friends. We didn't go in to watch the people racing (they were only qualifying races anyway) but walked around outside and looked at the different booths. There were different companies who'd come out and set up their own wheels of fortune. We got a pretty cool metal water bottle out of one of them. Anyway, this was one of the cars on display. It's some kind of racing car. Obviously, it's not street legal so I could never actually use it, but it was so small I thought it was adorable!

-25- Smells Good

This is the Scentsy "candle" that my in-laws gave me for graduation. It smells up our house - in the nicest sense of the word. I love having a wonderful scent to make it feel like home without the flame and the smoke that follows blowing a candle out. Plus, this is beautiful!

-24- Like a Human

Our cat likes to sit/lay in our dining table chairs, and we always shoo her off. This time though I had to take a pic first - so cute!

-23- Almost Bread

The only reason these bananas are still on our counter is because I will be making banana bread with them soon. They're almost ready!

-22- Walk a Mile in These Shoes

I wore these shoes today and they reminded me of Oxford, as they usually do whenever I wear them. I bought them at Primark, a department store with affordable prices that's popular in the U.K. and other parts of Europe. They are deceptively durable; I can't count how many miles I've walked in them around Oxford, and even since then.

-21- Searching for a Deal

These are the grocery store ads we received a few days ago. This morning I sat down and looked through each of them, taking note of which items we needed that were worth the price advertised at which store. My next step is to see if there are any coupons out there for these items. Hopefully we can save some money if I keep this up! Wish me luck!

-20- Walk to the Store

Our apartment is right next to a grocery store. Literally, we just have to walk across the parking lot, through a gate, and around the corner of the store building and we are at the front door of it. This evening we really wanted Oreos, so we walked to the store together and it took less time to walk there and back than it would have if we'd driven! I will definitely be walking there from now on whenever I just need a quick few items.

-19- Awkward Amount

A couple hours after dinner tonight I was hungry. I wanted cereal, so I started pouring out some Lucky Charms. Unfortunately, the amount I wanted left just a small, awkward amount in the box, one that wouldn't serve as a meal and wouldn't even be worthwhile to get as a snack. So... I just poured it all out for a large bowlful of cereal. I often run into this problem, especially with pasta (as Rebekah knows).

-18- Leak

Yesterday was pretty much the last day of our honeymoon; Justin finally started work today. And wouldn't you know, the day he is gone I decide to do some laundry and the washer leaks. Actually, it's not as dramatic as it sounds, and it has happened before. We know where the problem is and how to fix it, so it's not that big of a deal. I just thought this image was too hilarious not to capture. This is the view of our laundry room when he was busy drying the water behind the washer. Before this, I dried what I could and waited for him to come home to move the washer and dry what was left.
